Google recently launched a new project called googleartproject.com Using Google Maps' Street View technology, Google enables users to take a grand digital tour of leading galleries and museums in the world. Digitally wander around the halls and corridors of the museums and see artworks by more than 400 artists. Zoom in on the 14 billion pixel, super high resolution images and examine the incredible brush strokes in microsopic detail. Museums available currently include: MoMA, The Museum of Modern Art in New York City; The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City; Palace of Versailles in Versailles; Freer Gallery of Art, Smithsonian in Washington, DC; Museum Kampa in Prague; Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam; Uffizi Gallery in Florence; Gemäldegalerie in Berlin; Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid; Tate Britain in London; The Frick Collection in New York City; The State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow; The State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg; Museo Thyssen - Bornemisza in Madrid; National Gallery in London; Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam; Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin. 3 Comments New Website 02/06/2011
